About KSTAR

30 years in power electronics. Built around the world's best batteries.

KSTAR was founded in Shenzhen in 1993 — originally supplying UPS and power conditioning systems to data centres and telecoms infrastructure across Asia. That background in critical power reliability shapes how they approach solar energy storage: systems that are expected to work every single time, not just when conditions are ideal.

The move into solar energy storage came through a joint venture with CATL — the company that manufactures batteries for Tesla, BMW, Volkswagen and most of the world’s leading EV brands. That partnership means KSTAR inverters pair directly with the same LFP cell technology that powers the best electric vehicles on the road. The result is a vertically integrated system: inverter, battery management and cells all engineered to work together, not bolted together from separate suppliers.

KSTAR’s BluE residential series and BluePulse commercial systems are now deployed across Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia. CGP Solar distributes and installs the full KSTAR range in Cyprus — with local stock, in-house installation teams and direct technical support.

KSTAR BluE Series

BlueSpark Residential ESS — what it does and why it matters

The BlueSpark is KSTAR’s current residential energy storage line — and a meaningful step forward from the previous BluE generation. It’s an all-in-one system: hybrid inverter, battery management and CATL or EVE LFP battery packs in a single unit. Available in single-phase (3.68–6 kW) for standard homes and three-phase (8–12 kW) for larger properties and villas with higher consumption.

Stackable, cable-free battery packs — battery modules stack directly onto each other with no inter-pack wiring; add capacity without replanning the installation

Max. 20 A input current per MPPT— it accepts currents of current-generation solar panels (500 W+), including the latest HJT and TopCon modules. If you're pairing with modern high-efficiency panels, you won't hit a current ceiling that forces you to string differently or underperform

Works off-grid — the BlueSpark inverter operates as a DC-coupled off-grid system, powering loads directly from solar and battery without any grid connection.

IP66 protection— one rating above the previous BluE generation, suitable for garage or utility room installation without a dedicated enclosure

Both on-grid and off-grid parallel configurations supported

DC/AC ratio up to 2— connect up to double the inverter's rated power in solar panels, capturing more energy during early morning, late afternoon and overcast conditions

SG Ready— compatible with smart heat pumps, so your heat pump can draw from the battery or solar rather than the grid when rates are high

Enphase IQ Battery 5P

Battery Storage — specs, sizing and what actually matters

The BP48100P1-G2 / BP48100PF1-G2 is the battery pack designed for the BlueSpark residential ESS. It’s a flat, wall-mounted unit — 725×418×165 mm, 51 kg — that stacks directly onto additional packs with no cabling between them. The BMS manages the stack automatically over CAN communication.

5.12 kWh total / 4.6 kWh usable per pack — and uniquely for this generation, the max depth of discharge is 100%, so you're not leaving capacity on the table

No wiring between packs — the stackable design means adding a second or third pack is a physical connection only; no additional cabling, no re-commissioning

100% three-phase unbalanced output — the battery pack supports full output across all three phases independently, even when loads are not balanced across them.

EVE or CATL LFP cells depending on variant— both use lithium iron phosphate chemistry: no cobalt, thermally stable, proven for high-temperature environments

Round-trip efficiency above 94% — meaning less than 6% of the energy you put in is lost during the charge/discharge cycle

Up to 8 packs per BlueSpark ESS— 40.96 kWh total storage from a single inverter

KSTAR BluePulse Series

Commercial ESS — — built for businesses that can't afford downtime

The KSTAR BluePulse is an outdoor all-in-one cabinet designed for commercial and light-industrial sites. Everything arrives pre-assembled — inverter, CATL battery modules, BMS and thermal management — and can be positioned outside without a dedicated equipment room. It’s the kind of system you’d put next to a hotel plant room, behind a factory unit or on the edge of a farmyard.

50 kW hybrid inverter with 3 MPPT trackers for multi-string PV inputs — peak efficiency 97.5%

Choose 100 kWh or 197 kWh CATL LFP storage per cabinet depending on your energy profile

Scale to 20 units in parallel — up to 1 MW of power and 2 MWh of storage for larger sites

On-grid and off-grid capable — add KSTAR STS cabinet for full island mode operation

Integrated EMS with Ethernet and CAN communication — connects to building management systems

KSTAR GreenFlow Series

EV Chargers — home, business and fast charging

KSTAR’s GreenFlow range covers the full spectrum of EV charging: a 7 kW AC wallbox for home garages and a DC fast-charge line from 20 kW up to 480 kW for commercial car parks, petrol stations, hotels and fleet operators. Both are built to the same IP65 standard as KSTAR’s energy storage equipment.

GreenFlow AC 7 kW — wall-mounted home charger that installs in around 5 minutes; setup, commissioning and firmware updates all handled via Bluetooth from a phone

Type 2 connector as standard — compatible with all current EVs sold in Cyprus and Europe

Remote start/stop, remote rate-setting and fault reporting via Ethernet or 4G — no on-site visit required for most management tasks

GreenFlow DC 20–60 kW — wall-mounted fast charger with wide voltage range, suitable for all current EVs; modular design for easy capacity expansion

GreenFlow DC 240/480 kW— three-phase high-power charger for commercial forecourts, motorway services and multi-bay installations

Pairs with KSTAR BluE ESS for solar-first charging — charge your vehicle from your own stored solar rather than drawing from the grid

Why KSTAR

What separates KSTAR from
most storage brands

01

CATL cells, not generic LFP

Most energy storage brands buy cells on the open market. KSTAR operates a direct joint venture with CATL — the same company supplying Tesla, BMW and Volkswagen. That means consistent cell quality, not the variation you get from spot-market procurement.

02

All-in-one actually means all-in-one

Some brands call a product “all-in-one” but ship the inverter and battery as separate units with separate warranties. KSTAR’s BluE arrives as a single integrated unit — one installation, one commissioning, one support contact if something needs attention.

03

Designed for real operating temperatures

The BluePulse commercial cabinet is rated for -30°C to +50°C and corrosion class C4. Cyprus summers regularly push equipment to its thermal limits. A system rated for these conditions performs differently from one that technically works but wasn’t designed for them.

04

10,000 cycles is a meaningful number

At one cycle per day that’s 27 years. Most battery warranties talk about “years” rather than cycles because cycles are the harder standard to meet. KSTAR publishes 10,000 cycles at 90% depth of discharge — a figure that holds up to independent verification.

05

Retrofit-friendly by design

Both DC-coupled (direct from panels) and AC-coupled (from an existing inverter) configurations are supported. If you already have a solar installation in Cyprus and want to add battery storage, the KSTAR BluE can work with your existing setup without replacing the inverter.

06

Commercial scale without commercial complexity

The BluePulse commercial ESS gets you to 1 MW / 2 MWh using 20 identical cabinets — no custom engineering, no one-off design. For hotels, farms, commercial buildings and micro-grids across Cyprus, that’s a practical path to large-scale storage without large-scale project risk.

FAQ’s

Most asked questions
about KSTAR in Cyprus

About KSTAR & How It Works

What is a KSTAR energy storage system?

A KSTAR energy storage system combines a hybrid solar inverter with CATL or EVE LFP battery packs in a single all-in-one unit. The current residential line is the BlueSpark — available in single-phase (3.68–6 kW) and three-phase (8–12 kW). It manages the flow of energy between your solar panels, battery, home loads and the grid, and supports multiple operating modes: self-consumption, peak shaving, time-of-use and battery priority. Think of it as the brain, the inverter and the storage of your solar system combined in one wall-mounted unit.

Is KSTAR a reliable brand?

KSTAR has been manufacturing power electronics since 1993 — originally UPS systems for data centres where reliability is non-negotiable. Their energy storage products use CATL LFP cells (the same manufacturer supplying Tesla, BMW and most premium EV brands) through a direct joint venture. The BluE-PACK battery is certified to IEC/EN 62619, UN38.3 and UL1973. KSTAR systems are installed across Europe, Australia, South Africa and Asia.

What is LFP and why does it matter?
LFP stands for lithium iron phosphate — a specific battery chemistry that uses iron and phosphate instead of nickel or cobalt. It’s thermally stable (much less prone to overheating), degrades more slowly across charge cycles, and handles partial state-of-charge operation better than older lithium chemistries. The practical result: a longer lifespan and a safer battery, particularly relevant in a hot climate like Cyprus. KSTAR uses CATL or EVE LFP cells depending on the model.

Can the KSTAR BluE work without solar panels?

Yes. You can charge the KSTAR battery from the grid — useful for time-of-use tariff management or as a UPS-style backup system. That said, the economics are far stronger when the battery is charged by solar during the day and discharged in the evening, removing grid electricity from your consumption altogether during most of the year.

What is the difference between KSTAR BlueSpark and BluE?

The BlueSpark is KSTAR’s current residential ESS — the successor to the BluE-S series. Key improvements: IP66 vs IP65 protection, a stackable cable-free battery pack design (no inter-pack wiring), DC/AC ratio up to 2 for better solar harvest, SG Ready heat pump compatibility, and optional AFCI arc protection. The three-phase BlueSpark also adds 100% three-phase unbalanced output, which matters for homes with uneven load distribution across phases. If you’re ordering residential systems today, BlueSpark is the model to specify.

Batteries & Storage Sizing

How many BlueSpark battery packs do I need?

Each BlueSpark BP48100 pack gives you 4.6 kWh of usable storage at 100% depth of discharge. A typical Cypriot household uses 10–20 kWh per day. For covering evening and overnight consumption from solar stored during the day, 2–3 packs (9.2–13.8 kWh) covers most households. For larger homes or villas with higher overnight demand, 4–6 packs is more appropriate. The three-phase BlueSpark inverter supports up to 8 packs (40.96 kWh total). We size the battery based on your actual consumption profile during the site survey.

Can I add more battery packs later?

Yes — and it’s simpler than most systems. BlueSpark packs use a stackable, cable-free design: you physically stack additional packs and the BMS recognises them automatically over CAN communication. No rewiring, no additional cabling between packs. You can start with one or two BP48100 units and expand up to 8 packs (40.96 kWh) without any changes to the inverter or existing installation.

How long will the battery last during a power cut?
One BP48100 pack (4.6 kWh usable) running essential loads — fridge, lights, router, a few sockets — typically lasts 6–10 hours overnight. Each additional pack scales that proportionally. During daylight hours, if the sun is out, the BlueSpark inverter continues charging the battery from solar while powering the home simultaneously — which can extend backup cover significantly through multi-day outages. The 80 A continuous discharge per pack means even a single pack can support a full air conditioning circuit without throttling.

Commercial & Large-Scale Projects

What types of businesses is the BluePulse suited for?

Hotels, factories, logistics centres, large farms, supermarkets, petrol stations, schools, hospitals and any commercial building with meaningful daytime electricity consumption and a demand charge or high grid tariff. The system is particularly relevant for businesses in Cyprus that run air conditioning or refrigeration loads continuously, where peak-shaving can produce significant savings on grid bills.

Does the BluePulse work off-grid?

Yes, with the addition of a KSTAR STS transfer switch cabinet (STS100D or STS250D). On its own the BluePulse operates in on-grid mode with automatic backup on grid failure. Adding the STS enables full island-mode operation — useful for sites with unreliable grid supply or those seeking complete grid independence.

EV Charging

Does KSTAR make EV chargers?

Yes — KSTAR’s GreenFlow range includes a 7 kW AC wallbox for home installations and a DC fast-charge series from 20 kW to 480 kW for commercial and public charging. CGP Solar supplies and installs both in Cyprus. The AC charger is the practical choice for most homeowners; the DC range is aimed at hotels, car parks, commercial fleets and forecourts.

Can I charge my EV from my solar panels and KSTAR battery?

Yes — this is one of the more practical benefits of using KSTAR across the board. When a GreenFlow EV charger is paired with a KSTAR BluE ESS, the system can prioritise solar-generated energy for charging. Rather than drawing grid electricity, you charge your car from surplus solar stored in the battery. It requires a complete system design to set up correctly, which we handle during the site survey.

Is the GreenFlow AC charger compatible with my EV?

The GreenFlow AC 7 kW charger uses a Type 2 connector (IEC 62196), which is the European standard. It’s compatible with every EV currently sold in Cyprus — Renault, Nissan, BMW, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Kia, Tesla (with adapter), Peugeot, and all others. If your car supports AC charging at 7 kW, it will work at full speed. Cars limited to 3.7 kW onboard AC charging will charge at their own maximum regardless of charger output.

How long does it take to install a home EV charger in Cyprus?

The GreenFlow AC 7 kW charger is designed for fast installation — the unit itself mounts to a wall in a few minutes. A full installation including electrical connection, earthing and commissioning typically takes 2–4 hours depending on the distance from your consumer unit and whether any cable routing is required. CGP Solar handles supply and installation across all major cities in Cyprus.

Purchasing & Warranty in Cyprus

Where can I buy KSTAR products in Cyprus?

CGP Solar (cgpsolar.eu) is an authorised KSTAR distributor and certified installer serving all of Cyprus — Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Famagusta. We hold local stock of the residential BlueSpark system and battery modules, and can source commercial BluePulse systems for project orders. Buying through an authorised distributor ensures full manufacturer warranty support.

What warranty comes with KSTAR products?

The KSTAR BluE inverter and BluE-PACK battery modules carry a 5-year product warranty and a 10-year performance warranty. The performance warranty means the battery must retain a specified percentage of its original capacity over that period — it’s not just a promise that the unit won’t fail, it covers degradation. CGP Solar registers warranty on your behalf as the authorised distributor and is your first point of contact for any warranty claim.

Can KSTAR systems be added to an existing solar installation?

Yes — this is one of KSTAR’s practical advantages. The BluE supports both DC-coupling (panels connected directly to the KSTAR inverter) and AC-coupling (connected to an existing grid-tied inverter). If you already have solar panels and an inverter, the AC-coupled configuration lets you add KSTAR battery storage without removing what you already have. We assess the existing setup during the site survey and design accordingly.
