Solar Equipment Guide
At CGP Solar we supply premium solar power equipment designed to help Cyprus homeowners and businesses cut their EAC electricity bills and switch to clean, sustainable energy. Whether you’re building a small residential rooftop system, a complete villa setup with battery backup, or a larger commercial solar plant, our shop carries every component you need — all EAC-approved and shipped Cyprus-wide. As an authorised distributor for leading solar manufacturers, every product comes with the manufacturer’s full warranty, handled locally in Cyprus.
Solar panels are the engine of every solar system. They use photovoltaic (PV) technology to convert sunlight directly into usable electricity. Over the years, the solar industry has developed several different cell technologies, each with its own efficiency, cost and use case. Here are the main types of solar panels used in residential and commercial systems today:
Our recommendation for Cyprus: HJT bifacial panels are the best choice for Cyprus rooftops. They handle the island’s intense summer heat better than any other cell technology (lower power loss at high temperatures), produce more electricity per square metre than older panel types, and have the lowest long-term degradation rate — meaning more savings over the system’s 25+ year life.
Solar inverters are the brain of your solar system. They transform the direct current (DC) generated by solar panels into alternating current (AC) that your home appliances and the EAC grid can use. Our shop carries four main types of inverters:
For power after sunset and during EAC grid outages, solar batteries store the surplus solar your panels generate during the day. Since Cyprus moved to net billing on 1 January 2026, batteries are the key to getting the most from your solar investment — every kWh you store and use yourself saves the full EAC retail rate (around €0.30/kWh), while exported kWh only earn the lower wholesale rate. Several battery chemistries are used in solar systems today:
Our recommendation for Cyprus: LiFePO4 lithium-ion batteries are the best choice for almost every home and small-commercial solar installation. They last the longest (around 6,000 cycles, often 15+ years of daily use), handle Cyprus’s hot climate safely, work with all our hybrid inverters, and deliver the best lifetime value per kWh stored.
Our team helps you size the right battery capacity (in kWh) based on which appliances you want to keep running, for how long, and whether you’re prioritising backup power or daily self-consumption.
Energy storage systems combine inverter, battery and monitoring in one pre-engineered package. Easier to size, easier to install, and one warranty covers everything. We supply residential ESS for homes and villas, and commercial ESS for shops, offices, agricultural sites and small businesses.
MPPT charge controllers regulate the flow of electricity from your solar panels to your battery bank, preventing overcharge and damage. The “MPPT” (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology continuously adjusts the operating point of the panels to extract the maximum available power under any sunlight condition — including cloudy weather and partial shade.
MPPT controllers are essential for off-grid installations and any system using a separate battery bank without a hybrid inverter. They typically deliver 15–30% more energy than older PWM controllers, especially when battery voltage and panel voltage don’t match closely.
Solar water pumps run directly from solar panels — no battery required — making them ideal for agricultural sites, remote properties and any application where mains electricity isn’t available or affordable. Our shop carries four main types:
EV chargers let you charge electric vehicles at home using your solar power. Our range covers 7 kW single-phase wall chargers for typical residential setups and 22 kW three-phase chargers for faster charging on properties with a three-phase EAC connection. Smart units prioritise solar power and only draw from the EAC grid when there’s not enough sunlight.
High-quality aluminium mounting frames provide sturdy, corrosion-resistant support for your solar panels — important in Cyprus’s coastal salt-air conditions. Lightweight yet structurally robust, these frames hold panels at the correct angle and orientation for the life of the system.
We stock rails, mid clamps, end clamps and complete ground-mount kits suited to tile roofs, metal roofs, flat roofs and ground-mount installations across all Cyprus districts.
All grid-tied products we sell carry the certifications required for connection to the Cyprus grid, and we handle the EAC application paperwork for full-system orders. As an authorised distributor, the manufacturer’s warranty on every product is processed locally in Cyprus — you never have to ship anything overseas if a claim is needed. Free delivery on orders over €1,500 to all Cyprus districts, including Paphos, Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca and Famagusta. Our team in Paphos handles installation, monitoring and ongoing maintenance, and trade pricing is available for certified solar installers and electrical contractors — contact us for details.
