Returning something you bought online (no installation)

If you buy a product from our online shop — a solar panel, inverter, battery, or similar — and you simply change your mind, you can return it within 14 days of receiving it, no reason needed.

To keep things straightforward, please make sure:

•  You have your invoice or order number on hand
• The item is in its original packaging where possible

You can open the packaging and check the item the same way you would in a shop before buying it — inspect it, make sure it’s what you ordered. What you shouldn’t do is install it or use it beyond that kind of check. If an item comes back to us having been used or installed, we’ll deduct a fair amount from your refund to reflect the reduction in value — we won’t refuse the return because of it.

How to return something:

1. Email sales@cgpsolar.eu or call +357 99420443 within 14 days of receiving your order, with your order number.
2. We’ll confirm your return and give you the return address.
3. Send the item back within 14 days of telling us — you’ll need to cover the cost of sending it back, unless the item was faulty or wrong.
4. Once we’ve received it, we’ll refund you within 14 days, to whatever payment method you originally used.
* For cash-on-delivery or check payments, confirm how we’ll actually send the refund back — e.g. bank transfer to an account you provide, since there’s no original electronic payment to reverse.

Returning an installed system

Most of what we do isn’t just selling a product — it’s designing and installing a complete solar system on your property. Once installation work has started, the simple  process above doesn’t really apply anymore, for a good reason: your panels are now fixed to your roof, wired into your home, and can’t just be put back in a box.

Here’s how this works:

• Before installation starts, you can cancel within 14 days of accepting your offer, for any reason, and get a full refund.
• If you’d like us to start work sooner — within that 14-day period, rather than waiting — the law requires us to get your clear, written go-ahead first. In practice, that means: as part of your commercial offer, you’ll be asked to confirm two specific things in writing before we begin:

1. “I ask CGP Solar Energy Ltd to begin installation before the end of the standard 14-day cancellation period.”

2. “I understand that once installation is fully completed, I will no longer be able to cancel this contract.”

These need to be two separate confirmations (not one blended sentence) — the first is your request to start early, the second is your acknowledgement of what that means.

• If you cancel after giving that go-ahead, but before installation is finished, you’ll owe us a fair amount for the work and materials already used up to that point — not the full contract price, just what’s actually been done.
• Once installation is fully complete, the right to cancel no longer applies — this is standard across the industry for on-site installation work, not something specific to us.

If something arrives damaged or faulty

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and your order number, and we’ll sort out a replacement, repair, or refund — at no cost to you. This is separate from (and in addition to) everything above.

Your 2-year guarantee

On top of any manufacturer warranty, EU law gives you a simple guarantee: if something you bought turns out to be faulty, or not what was described, you can ask us to repair it, replace it, reduce the price, or refund you — for up to 2 years after you received it. You don’t need to have kept special paperwork for this beyond your invoice, and it applies regardless of what any manufacturer warranty says. What doesn’t have a right to cancel

A few things aren’t covered by the 14-day right at all:

• Items made specifically for you (for example, a custom-cut mounting frame)
• Anything that’s been permanently combined with something else after delivery
• Installation work that’s already been fully completed with your prior written go-ahead (see above)

Business and commercial orders

If you’re buying as a business — for a commercial installation, a photovoltaic park, or a wholesale order — the 14-day cancellation right described above doesn’t automatically apply. Return and cancellation terms for business orders are agreed in writing as part of your commercial quote.
