The right pool pump size depends on your pool volume in litres. A pool pump should turn over the entire pool volume at least once per day — and for solar systems, aim for 6–8 hours of daytime operation to achieve this.
To calculate your pool volume: length × width × average depth (all in metres) × 1,000 = litres. A typical 10m × 5m villa pool with 1.5m average depth = 75,000 litres, needing about 12 m³/h flow rate over a 6-hour daytime cycle.
